Rock in the Road: In a faraway land, a king governed his realm so well that his people were in want of nothing. As the years passed, the king noticed his people had become lazy and selfish, so he devised a simple test to show them the value of others. As a young boy unknowingly faces the challenge, the future of the kingdom is built on the strength of his character.
In the fall of 2007, Southern Adventist University’s animation students set out to create a three-minute short film based on a simple parable. This artistic venture, intended to be completed during one year, turned into a five-year journey. The result is the twelve-minute animated short, "Rock in the Road."

Toy Story 3 Demo Reel by Victor Navone: After co-directing 4 Cars Toons I needed a break and wanted to get back to animating; Toy Story 3 was the perfect show to get on to! At first I was very intimidated by the idea of animating Buzz and Woody, so I asked for shots with humans. I got a really challenging pantomime acting shot of Andy and Mom, and best of all I got to do Bonnie's introduction, for which I drew a lot from my own daughters. Once I got the courage, animating Woody was fun, and I feel like I have a knack for him. Buzz was much more challenging, and I don't feel like I nailed Spanish Buzz as well as others like Carlos Baena did. You can see some of my planning drawings for these shots here:

Alien Song by Victor Navone: This is the clip that launched my animation career. I started teaching myself CG character animation back in 1998, and this was the third test I animated with my alien character, "Blit". It was meant to be a simple lip-synch test, but I decided to have some fun with it and give it an ironic ending. I posted it to the CG Char forum for feedback, and the next thing I knew it was going viral (by email; this was before YouTube). Among the thousands of emails I received about it was one from Pixar, asking if I would like to interview with them. The next thing I knew, I was a professional animator. It's weird how things go!

The director's brief was to create a thrilling jungle chase sequence and MPC were tasked with creating a photo-real lizard that stood 12 feet tall and 30 feet long and displayed a large cape-like frill and sharp dino-like teeth.
